Building jobs

A new training centre to help teenagers in Bradford get a job in the construction industry will open in September. The Centre of Excellence in the Built Environment is part of a wave of centres for excellence designed to give pupils valuable experience and make them “job ready” for various industries. Sheffield Explorer Scouts

We recently donated bulk bags to a local Scout Explorer group in Sheffield so that they could make hammocks for a camping and team building exercise. The Scouts worked together to make the hammocks from the bulk bags and lash them to the trees. As you can see from the pictures, they made a good job of it! Apprentice of the Year

A very happy Bradford College Apprentice of the Year TJ Harrington collected and spent the £100 Arnold Laver voucher prize he won today. TJ came into the Canal Road, Bradford depot and had his picture taken at our trade counter. He decided to spend his voucher on a power drill. We hope it serves him well and we’re sure he’ll have a bright future as a heating and ventilation engineer. Louie Spence & staff at Arnold Laver Reading 26/09/2013

Louie Spence visited the Arnold Laver Reading depot recently to pick up timber and film for his latest Spence and Son project. The Spence and Son segment is shown weekly on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, where Louie Spence and his handyman dad  transform viewers’ homes from design disasters to dream dwellings. Louie had a ball talking to staff, filming and having his picture taken with them.


Timber Engineering MSc

Arnold Laver are the first company to sign up to Edinburgh Napier University’s Timber Engineering MSc as scholarship funders.
