Composite decking is great choice for creating a decked area in your garden as it requires less maintenance and attention than real wood options, but still offers a stunning aesthetic when the project is finished.
Composite garden decking is produced by creating a wood-plastic mix which can contain a range of materials such as sawdust, wood chips and fibres. It is a low maintenance option which resists most weathering and bugs and is often slip and splinter free.
Because it contains plastics, composite decking typically does not need to be painted, stained or sealed in order to protect it from the elements. This is usually a big selling point for people looking to erect decking in their garden as it requires far less maintenance than timber decking.
When it comes to cleaning your composite decking, warm water mixed with a mild washing up liquid can usually do the trick to removing more dirt.
You can also use a pressure washer on your composite decking if you are cleaning large areas at once. Set the pressure to around 3000psi and hold the nozzle at roughly a 30 degree angle to the decking, spraying in the direction of the length of the plank. Spray one plank lengthwise at a time for best results and do not spray across the grain as this can cause minor damage.
